Mobility Plan Raeren

Towards an inte­gra­ted mobi­lity future in a cross-border municipality

The muni­ci­pa­lity of Raeren, loca­ted in the German-spea­king Commu­nity of Belgium, commis­sio­ned the deve­lo­p­ment of a compre­hen­sive mobi­lity plan to guide mobi­lity poli­cies over the next 15 years.

The project combi­ned data analy­sis, on-site assess­ments, stake­hol­der enga­ge­ment and stra­te­gic plan­ning to create a shared vision for sustainable mobi­lity. Parti­cu­lar atten­tion was given to multi­mo­dal connec­tions, acces­si­bi­lity, road safety and the inte­gra­tion of mobi­lity with local deve­lo­p­ment objectives.

The resul­ting action plan provi­des a clear imple­men­ta­tion pathway, supported by prio­ri­tiza­tion, gover­nance struc­tures and moni­to­ring mecha­nisms. Throug­hout the process, citi­zens, local stake­hol­ders and decis­ion-makers were actively invol­ved through dedi­ca­ted mobi­lity forums and conti­nuous dialogue.
